What Do You Think Is Holding Business Growth Back?

I enjoy writing and engaging in conversations around marketing, business development, sales, sales leadership, and business growth. One question seems to come up over and over again:

Why do businesses get stuck?

Is it leadership? Is it operational capacity? Is it a lack of training? Is it unclear goals and expectations? Is it hiring the wrong people, or not investing enough in developing the right ones?

In my experience, it's rarely just one thing. More often, it's a combination of factors that slowly create friction inside the organization. Teams become disconnected. Priorities become unclear. Processes become inconsistent. Accountability starts to fade.

I want to hear from you.

What have you learned from your experiences? What do you see as the biggest challenge impacting business growth today?

My theory is that many companies simply stop doing the things that created their success in the first place. They become reactive instead of intentional. They focus so heavily on operations, products, or short-term results that they forget the importance of continually being known, loved, and trusted.

Growth doesn't happen by accident. It requires consistent and persistent effort. It requires leaders who communicate clearly, teams that execute consistently, and organizations that stay connected to their customers, prospects, partners, and employees.

Being known, loved, and trusted is not a marketing campaign. It's not a sales tactic. It's a business philosophy that must show up every day through leadership, culture, communication, and execution.

What do you think? What's the biggest factor that causes business growth to stall?
